Job Summary
Teacher I delivers Head Start curriculum in a single-session classroom, with trauma-informed care, following Head Start regulations and agency standards. Responsibilities include lesson planning aligned with school readiness, ongoing assessment, classroom management, maintaining documentation, and ensuring safe, clean environments. The role covers substitutes and floaters moving between classrooms, collaboration with staff and parents, adherence to ARD and IEP guidance, and participation in the Texas School Ready project with off-campus training. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or related field (TX Teacher Certification preferred), CPR/First Aid certification, bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable, and vaccination status compliance. The position emphasizes building positive relationships with students, families, and the community and contributing to culturally sensitive customer service in the Head Start program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or related field
- Texas Teachers Certification preferred
- Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification
- Experience in educational classroom delivery and varied learning techniques
- Fluent in English and Spanish desirable
- Vaccination status documentation or accommodation request possible
- State-specific license or certification as applicable
- Vehicle operator’s license and liability insurance
