Job Summary
SPECIAL EDUCATION/HUMANITIES INCLUSION TEACHER (GR. 7-8) LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE in Boston Public Schools. Responsibilities include implementing district learning goals aligned with state frameworks, providing small-group instruction for students with moderate to severe cognitive delays, developing and implementing IEP-aligned goals and objectives with regular progress reporting, providing accommodations and, when needed, curriculum development and analysis of student work for MCAS Alternative Assessment. Collaborates with school staff to support students’ needs, assists in transitions to adult living services, and upholds equitable, engaging instruction focused on high expectations, accountability, and culturally proficient practices. Core competencies emphasize goal setting, data-driven adjustments to instruction, effective communication of content, differentiation to meet diverse needs, and collaboration within a professional learning community. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, Massachusetts teaching license in Moderate Disabilities for the appropriate grade, and eligibility to work in the United States. Preferred: urban school experience, SEI/ESL endorsement, and related specialty certifications.
