Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines while accommodating diverse student learning styles. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing to guide instructional activities. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and create a classroom environment conducive to physical, social, and emotional development. Establish open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers. Compile, maintain, and file all required reports and records while participating in faculty meetings and staff committees as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree
- 12 credit hours in education courses or a valid, appropriate state certificate, as outlined in the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department standards
- Technology proficiency in the areas of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and internet use for educational purposes and multimedia presentations
- Demonstrated competency in the subject assigned area(s)
- Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening
- Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening
- Knowledge of subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented
- Organized
- Self-motivated
- Work well independently and on a team
- Good written and verbal skills
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Maybe required to work some weekends and nights
- Required to work a minimum a full school day
