Job Summary

Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals by establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects. Instruct assigned classes at designated times and locations while employing varied instructional techniques and media. Plan a program of study tailored to individual student needs, abilities, and interests, and create a classroom environment conducive to learning. Supervise students to ensure safety and protect equipment, while assessing accomplishments regularly and maintaining accurate records. Diagnose learning disabilities and assist administration in implementing policies governing student conduct. Make provision for availability to students and parents outside the instructional day when required. Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as needed. Starting salary is $48,700 with additional referendum money available for the next two years.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area
  • Knowledge of subject content
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills
  • Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
  • Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading papers, preparation of lesson plans, etc.
  • Ability to manage students
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
