Job Summary
Plan, organize, and present instruction in a safe classroom environment that supports individualized and small group learning. Develop and administer curriculum consistent with district goals while creating lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to student needs. Evaluate academic and social growth, maintain accurate records of grading, attendance, and standardized test results, and establish standards for student behavior. Communicate effectively with parents, co-workers, and community members to encourage involvement and address health or learning problems. Supervise students during out-of-classroom activities and school transportation. Continue professional development through seminars and workshops to stay current with educational developments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Licensed by the state of North Carolina in the required area(s)
- Degree in education or in a related area that will qualify for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction
