Teacher - Head Start (Aberdeen)

Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children while individualizing instruction per guidance from the Education Coordinator and ECE Specialist. Collaborate with the Site Supervisor and MRDC team to develop and execute individual education plans that support social, intellectual, physical, and emotional growth. Guide daily activities, field trips, and equipment selection to foster creativity and exploration, while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment. Supervise children at all times, manage behavior using positive strategies, and refer those with special needs to appropriate staff. Maintain comprehensive portfolio assessments including weekly observations and developmental evaluations, ensuring all files remain complete, accurate, and confidential. Attend training sessions and staff meetings to enhance professional skills, and work under stress to meet deadlines in this 11-month position at the Caroline, Cecil, and Kent Counties Community Action Agency.
