Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines while accommodating individual student differences. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing to inform instructional activities. Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct and create a classroom environment conducive to physical, social, and emotional development. Direct assigned instructional aides and volunteers, overseeing their work completion and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Establish open communication with parents, colleagues, and community members while serving as a positive role model for students.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience
- for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
