Job Summary
The Teacher, Grade 3 role involves planning and delivering engaging elementary instruction aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning, designing learning experiences, assessing student progress, and reporting to parents. Responsibilities include personalizing instruction, monitoring behavior, collaborating with colleagues, supporting classroom operations (directing teacher assistants, student teachers, and volunteers as needed), and contributing to the school’s professional learning community. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree and a Virginia teaching license with an appropriate endorsement, possess knowledge of elementary content and effective teaching methodologies, and demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills. The position is in Sterling, Virginia, and is not remote.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- Holds or eligible for a Virginia teaching license, with an endorsement in appropriate subject area
- Demonstrated knowledge of elementary content, curriculum, and methodology of effective teaching
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs
- Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents
- Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications; excellent human relations skills
