Job Summary
Grade 3 Teacher role responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and assessing an instructional program aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning for elementary students (K-5). Develop authentic and engaging learning experiences, personalize instruction, monitor student progress, assess growth, and present information to parents. Maintain a safe, supportive environment and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to promote student achievement. May oversee teacher assistants, student teachers, and volunteers; actively participate in the school's professional learning community to deepen understanding of curriculum and development of students. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and Virginia teaching license with endorsement in the appropriate subject area. Work schedule: 10 months, 200 days, 7 hours per day. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- Holds or eligible for a Virginia teaching license, with an endorsement in appropriate subject area
- Demonstrated knowledge of elementary content, curriculum, and methodology of effective teaching
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs
- Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents
- Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications; excellent human relations skills
- Physical requirements: regular talking, ability to convey instructions, etc.
