Job Summary
Teach General Science in an SEI setting for grades 6-8, delivering an interdisciplinary course of study that incorporates state frameworks and district learning goals. Implement research-based curriculum that challenges students to use scientific inquiry while administering mid-year and end-of-year assessments per district guidelines. Scaffolds instruction to meet diverse needs and actively engages families in student learning. Maintain a respectful environment that honors diverse backgrounds and identities. Requires a Massachusetts Teaching License in General Science, an SEI Endorsement, and a Bachelor's degree. Salary and schedule details are available on the BPS website.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Massachusetts Teaching License in General Science at the appropriate grade level
- Meet all state and federal guidelines in order to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified
- Ability to meet the Standards of Effective Teaching established by the Boston Public Schools
- Current authorization to work in the United States
