Job Summary
Assess student strengths and needs to inform reading intervention planning, coordinate assessment administration, and monitor individual progress. Provide direct intervention to struggling students while supporting classroom teachers by modeling strategies, coaching instruction, and facilitating curriculum alignment with Virginia Standards of Learning. Lead professional development through demonstration lessons and collaborative planning sessions to enhance instructional quality. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of subject area standards and complete required training as requested by the Department of Teaching and Learning. Attend monthly collaboration meetings to provide aligned resources for the school community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Three (3) years of successful teaching experience
- Holds or is eligible for a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of current research and best practices
