Job Summary
Plan and implement an instructional music program for K–12 students, teaching general music and chorus; recruit and test prospective choral music students; develop and direct at least one performing choral group annually; prepare sequential lesson plans and present to administrators; maintain accurate records and materials; communicate with students, parents, and school staff; adhere to policy and eligibility guidelines for performances; schedule rehearsals and perform activities outside regular school hours as needed; demonstrate professional practices in teaching, use appropriate technology for instruction and administration, and participate in professional development to enhance virtual instruction; obtain GaPSC certification in Music K-12 and maintain instrument/equipment inventories while coordinating with district policies and district expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain GaPSC certification in Music K-12
- Salary/Terms/Benefits: 190 day work year; certification-based placement; benefits package; retirement system
