Job Summary
French-language high school teaching role focused on designing and delivering engaging instruction aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning, using LCPS curriculum and varied resources to promote critical thinking, collaboration, and problem solving. Responsibilities include planning instructional activities with collaborators, assessing student growth, communicating progress to parents, managing classroom behavior, and supporting colleagues, students, parents, and community stakeholders. May direct teacher assistants, student teachers, and volunteers, and participate in the school’s professional learning community to develop assessments and measure mastery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Holds or eligible for a Virginia teaching license, with an endorsement in appropriate subject area
- Demonstrated knowledge of subject content, curriculum, and methodology of effective teaching
- Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs
- Skilled in the use of multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning
- Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents
- Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications; excellent human relations skills
