Job Summary
Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive classroom settings. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans while teaching Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility concepts, and adaptive skills. Adapt instructional materials to accessible formats and collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student success. Monitor progress, adjust strategies, and maintain documentation in compliance with South Carolina Department of Education and IDEA regulations. Hourly rate ranges from $35.00 to $55.00, with contracts up to 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Visual Impairments, Special Education, or related field
- South Carolina Teaching License with Visual Impairment certification (issued by SCDE)
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check

- Experience with Braille and assistive technology
