Job Summary
Teach and support the academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth of children from toddlers through preschool, including developing partnerships with parents and caregivers; ensure safety, confidentiality, and compliance with licensing standards; conduct developmental screenings; create weekly lesson plans aligned with early childhood standards; document attendance and sign-ins; promote parent involvement through home visits; maintain a positive, nurturing environment and collaborate with staff to uphold AVANCE core values; requires Preschool CDA or an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education (18 hours in ECE) with CPR/First Aid training and strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; travel 0-5% annually.
Required Qualifications
- Preschool CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 18 hours in Early Childhood Education
- CPR and First Aid Training
- Must be computer literate and have proficient working knowledge in assigned databases, software, and systems
- Must have interpersonal and teambuilding skills
- Spanish fluency helpful, but not required
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Must have dependable transportation daily, valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, current auto liability insurance and be bondable by AVANCE, San Antonio, Inc.
Desired Qualifications
- Preschool CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 18 hours in Early Childhood Education
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 18 hours in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
- Six (6) months in a licensed childcare facility or in a public/private school or early childhood facility or has completed an early childhood degree program with practicum(s) required (preferred)
- CPR and First Aid Training
- Computer literacy and proficiency with databases, software, and systems

- Spanish fluency helpful but not required
