Job Summary
Expanded Impact Teacher 3 (EIT3) in CMS works under moderate supervision to expand instructional impact to more students by taking on at least 3 additional instructional leadership responsibilities beyond a typical teacher. Responsibilities include planning, preparing, and delivering instruction, monitoring student progress, coaching a caseload of 1-2 teachers, collaborating with a team to review progress and adjust instruction, and carrying out policies under the principal’s direction. The role emphasizes leadership, curriculum knowledge, data-driven decision making, and ongoing collaboration with families and staff to achieve high learning outcomes as outlined in the School Improvement Plan. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, NC licensure, multiple years of teaching experience with demonstrated growth, and active engagement in the CMS Teacher Leader Pathway as an EIT3.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- NC Professional Educator's License in the subject area and grade level appropriate to the school’s needs required
- At least 3 years of prior teaching experience with at least 2 years of demonstrated evidence of high-growth student outcomes in relevant subjects required
- Evidence of initiative and leadership of adults required
- Must be in the CMS Teacher Leader Pathway Talent Pool as an EIT3
- Must coach 1-2 teachers and have release time on a weekly basis dedicated to coaching their caseload
- Teacher of record for a classroom and teach at least 50% of the day
- Valid driver’s license or ability to provide own transportation
- Travel to district buildings and professional meetings
