Job Summary
Expanded Impact Teacher 1 (EIT1) works under moderate supervision with a Multi-Classroom Leader to extend instructional reach. Responsibilities include planning, preparing, and delivering instruction; monitoring student progress to inform instructional needs; collaborating with a team of teachers and staff to review progress and adjust instruction for increased learning outcomes; adhering to Board of Education policies and the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards; and potentially leading schoolwide initiatives. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree, NC Professional Educator’s License in the appropriate subject/grade, at least 2 years of teaching experience with evidence of high-progress outcomes, and participation in the CMS Teacher Leader Pathway Talent Pool as an EIT1. The role operates at a full-time, 10-month schedule with work primarily on Charlotte-Mecklenburg premises; travel to district buildings and professional meetings is required. Knowledge and skills emphasize curriculum understanding, data-driven instructional decisions, differentiated instruction, classroom management, collaboration with families and staff, and leadership in instructional planning and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- NC Professional Educator's License in the subject area and grade level appropriate
- At least 2 years of prior teaching experience
- Certified Schedule/ Full-time, 10 months
- Evidence of initiative and leadership of adults
