Job Summary

Develop, plan, organize, and implement an instructional program for exceptional student education (ESE) students through curriculum, lesson plans, and individual education plan development. Ensure all procedures are followed to maintain safety, security, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Exceptional Student Education or related field, plus a valid Florida Educator's Certificate or district-issued adjunct certification. Candidates with a Reading Endorsement may be prioritized. The position is full-time at River Ridge High School in New Port Richey, FL, with 196 days per year. Teaching an additional period beyond the base contract may occur, with additional compensation paid as a supplement.

Required Qualifications

  • MUST BE CERTIFIED IN SCIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the field of Exceptional Student Education, or related field, OR Approval by or participation in a state-approved certification pathway program
  • Valid Florida Educator's Certificate or District-issued adjunct certification, OR Valid statement of eligibility
  • Valid Florida Educator's Certificate or District-issued adjunct certification, OR Valid statement of eligibility

Desired Qualifications

  • Reading Endorsement preferred. Candidates with a Reading Endorsement or who are willing to sign an agreement to earn an endorsement may be prioritized for hiring.
