Job Summary
Develop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) with measurable goals, accommodations, and benchmarks for students with autism. Monitor student performance data to adjust instruction and report progress toward IEP objectives. Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and parents to design specially designed instruction and facilitate IEP meetings. Participate in eligibility determinations, manifestion determinations, and Functional Behavioral Assessments. Deliver differentiated instruction using research-based strategies and assistive technology to meet state standards. Create real-time schedules for assigned paraprofessionals and manage classroom environments ensuring safety and order. Administer state assessments with appropriate accommodations and maintain accurate records complying with district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution
- Valid Florida Educator's Certificate in Exceptional Student Education and Endorsement, as required
- Meet certification and highly qualified requirement for core content area(s), at appropriate level
- Ability to design and implement educational services for exceptional students
- Knowledge of prescribed curriculum and research-based strategies for instructing students with varying learning abilities and styles
- Ability to use technology to support learning
- Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement, analyze data and prescribe actions for improvement
- Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision, so that students have a safe and orderly environment in which to learn
- Ability to provide specially designed instruction specific to IEP goals
- High School Diploma/Equivalent
