Job Summary
Exceptional Education Teacher responsible for delivering specially designed instruction to students with disabilities, developing and implementing IEPs in collaboration with families and staff, and ensuring compliance with IDEA and Virginia regulations. Responsibilities include modifying the general curriculum, utilizing assistive technology, collecting progress data, collaborating with general education teachers and related service providers, supervising paraprofessional staff as needed, implementing positive behavioral supports, and maintaining accurate records. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Virginia teaching license in General Curriculum K-12, strong communication and collaboration skills, and proficiency with assessment tools and data-driven instruction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Special Education - General Curriculum K-12
- Experience with IEPs and IDEA compliance
- Ability to plan and provide Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) for students with disabilities
