Job Summary
Lead ESL K-12 instruction under principal supervision by developing, selecting, and modifying instructional plans to meet diverse student needs. Create an engaging classroom environment that encourages student involvement and monitor performance to ensure learning objectives are achieved. Prepare for assigned classes, utilize effective evaluation techniques, and establish relationships with parents, colleagues, and the community to enhance student outcomes. Maintain appropriate records, attend staff meetings, and perform other duties as required. Self-assess effectiveness to increase teaching skills. This interim position requires a current NC Teacher license with ESL K-12 certification and operates on a temporary full-time basis with no benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold current NC Teacher license with certification in ESL K-12
- Must hold a valid NC Teaching License
- Must have the qualifications to obtain a NC Teaching License
- Thorough knowledge of subject(s) taught
- Thorough knowledge of secondary education principles, practices and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching
- Thorough knowledge of school division rules, regulations and procedures
- Ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior
- Ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, students and parents
- Ability to operate a personal computer
