Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements while presenting subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines. Prepare accommodations for diverse learning styles, conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement, and modify curricula for special education students based on Individual Education Plans. Manage student behavior, supervise teacher aides, and establish open communication with parents, students, and colleagues. Maintain professional relationships, participate in staff development, and comply with state and district regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
