Job Summary
Provide on-site procedural and curricular assistance to school-based personnel with regard to education of students with disabilities. Serve as the principal’s designee for all exceptional student education (ESE) staff, coordinate required ESE meetings, and assist regular education teachers of students with disabilities to implement and monitor IEP goals. Help develop appropriate IEPs, ensure parents receive draft IEPs for annual reviews, and communicate IEP-related information to parents and stakeholders. Collaborate with ESE curriculum supervisors regarding curricula, services, and program delivery; utilize the district’s electronic IEP management system to generate IEP documents; identify and correct IDEA compliance concerns; and participate in training to enhance job responsibilities while adhering to district and state policies.
Required Qualifications
- Earned bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Florida certification in at least one area of exceptionality
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience in Exceptional Student Education
- Computer skills are required
