Job Summary
Design and implement Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) with measurable annual goals and accommodations for exceptional students. Collect and monitor student performance data to adjust specially designed instruction and report progress toward IEP goals. Collaborate with general education teachers and service providers to develop interventions and facilitate IEP meetings, reevaluations, and Functional Behavioral Assessments. Deliver differentiated instruction using research-based strategies and assist paraprofessionals in classroom support. Coordinate transition planning, manage attendance rosters, and maintain compliant record-keeping procedures. Administer state assessments and enforce school policies while ensuring a safe learning environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution
- Valid Florida Educator's Certificate in Exceptional Student Education and Endorsement
- Meet certification and highly qualified requirement for core content area(s), at appropriate level
- Ability to design and implement educational services for exceptional students
- Knowledge of prescribed curriculum and research-based strategies for instructing students with varying learning abilities and styles
- Ability to use technology to support learning
- Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement, analyze data and prescribe actions for improvement
- Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision, so that students have a safe and orderly environment in which to learn
- Ability to provide specially designed instruction specific to IEP goals
- Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
- High School Diploma/Equivalent
