Job Summary
Develop and implement curriculum plans with evidence of preparation, presenting subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines. Prepare lessons accommodating individual student differences while employing varied instructional techniques and media. Assess student accomplishments regularly to provide progress reports and assist students in improving study habits. Create a conducive classroom environment, establish control, and administer discipline per board policies. Maintain open communication with students, parents, and community members while modeling a positive role model. Participate in faculty meetings, staff committees, and professional development programs as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Eligible for the appropriate Probationary Certificate through a TEA approved Teacher Certification Program
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Must be able to maintain emotional control under stress
- Must be able to lift or exert force of up to 25 pounds
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Color vision
- Ability to adjust focus
