Job Summary
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth; develop and implement lesson plans; assess student achievement; collaborate with special education staff; maintain open communication with parents and staff; participate in professional development; manage classroom environment and student behavior; support district curriculum and policies; utilize technology to enhance the teaching/learning process.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL certification required for ELA, Reading and self-contained Special Education teaching assignments (or ability to obtain within two years)
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of design and delivery issues related to alignment for best results in student achievement
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Student teaching or approved internship
- Physically able to monitor student discipline and progress and meet other student needs as required
- Physically able to move about the room to perform formative assessments and adequately facilitate small and large group instruction
