Job Summary
Meet and instruct assigned ESL PK-5 classes at designated locations and times. Plan a program of study that meets individual student needs using varied instructional techniques. Create a learning-conducive classroom environment and guide lessons toward curriculum goals with clear objectives. Assess student accomplishments regularly and maintain accurate records per district policy. Supervise teacher aide and volunteer assignments while evaluating their performance. Make provision for availability to students and parents outside the instructional day when required. Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as needed. Maintain and improve professional competence throughout the role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least one year of full-time teaching experience
- Commitment to ensuring academic success for all students
- ESL PK-8
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in an urban setting, preferred
- Experience working with diverse student populations, preferred
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply student performance data to instructional planning and execution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent teamwork skills
