Job Summary
Teach: English as a Second Language to Multilingual Learners; collaborate with content teachers to align language instruction with classroom needs across reading, writing, vocabulary, and assignments; assist with ACCESS administration and ELL transition planning; plan and deliver lessons aligned to ELD standards (WIDA) for varying proficiency levels; demonstrate cultural proficiency and integrate technology; support ELL assessments and professional development; for Moderate Disabilities, provide small-group instruction aligned with IEPs, develop and implement goals, provide accommodations, assist with MCAS Alternative Assessment, and collaborate with staff to meet diverse student needs; emphasize accountability for student achievement, effective instruction, and family engagement; qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, MA licensure in ESL and Moderate Disabilities, and eligibility to work in the United States; preferred candidates include urban-teaching experience and multilingual proficiency within BPS languages.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Massachusetts Teaching License in ESL at the appropriate grade level
- Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities at the appropriate grade level
- Authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment
- Ability to model excellent spoken and written English for students learning English

- Massachusetts Teaching License in ESL

- Bachelor's degree
- Highly Qualified status per Massachusetts standards
- Experience teaching in urban setting (preferred)
- Fluency in one of BPS official languages (Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali) (preferred)
- Certified in subject area and Moderate Disabilities and/or ESL (preferred)
