Job Summary
Elementary Structured Learning Services (SLS) Teacher facilitates specially designed instruction for students with Autism and related disabilities in a center-based classroom. Responsibilities include advocacy for students, assessment of eligibility and progress, administering ASD-specific assessments, developing SMART learning goals, conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans, supervising and coordinating paraprofessionals, collaborating with classroom teachers, school psychologists, SLPs, school social workers, and families, implementing IDEA and ECEA regulations, developing and implementing legally compliant IEPs, differentiating instruction, planning lessons aligned to ASD supports, and participating in ongoing professional development. Salary determined by certified salary schedule; 40 hours per week, 9 months per year. Licensure and endorsement needed within specified timeframe; preference given to candidates with ELL/ESL endorsements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Must possess the required license and endorsement for the position, or be able to obtain, or be in process with, the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) for a valid Colorado Educator License within 30 days of hire
- Criminal background check required for hire
