Job Summary
Elementary (Kindergarten) teacher with a Texas certification and ESL endorsement requirements; prepares and delivers engaging lessons aligned with district curriculum, differentiates instruction, collaborates with staff, uses digital tools, and supports student growth and development. Responsibilities include planning lessons, maintaining classroom environment and behavior, evaluating student progress, communicating with parents and staff, participating in professional development, and supervising extracurricular activities. Potential leadership opportunities include supervising instructional paraprofessionals and participating in leadership programs. Requires 187 duty days, exempt status, and pay grade I00 with experience-based pay. Must demonstrate professional ethics and alignment with district mission and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL certification required for K-5 RLA or self contained special education or general education classroom assignments
- ESL certification preferred for Math, Science, Social Studies teaching assignments
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching or approved internship
- Physically able to monitor student discipline and progress and to meet other student needs as required
- Physically able to move about the room to perform formative assessments and facilitate small and large group instruction
