Teacher, Elementary General Music/ (26-27)

Elementary General Music teacher responsible for delivering music instruction to elementary students, including choir, band, and orchestra, aligned with NC Essential Standards for Music. Role emphasizes cultivating instrumental technique, music reading, and the integration of appropriate music technologies. Primary duties include planning a sequential music program, assessing student work using a consistent grading system, collaborating with arts staff and other teachers for arts integration, managing musical equipment inventory and instrument maintenance, coordinating field trips as needed, and communicating program needs to the principal. Requires collaboration with CMS staff to ensure continuity in enrollment and program success, and an ongoing commitment to professional development. Education and experience requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, and a valid NC teaching license in the assigned area; a Master’s Degree in Performance or Music Education is preferred. Full-time, 10 months schedule.
