Job Summary
Plan a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of all students and create a classroom environment that encourages student involvement. Prepare for assigned classes, utilize instructional methods and resources, and monitor student performance and growth. Develop, select, and modify instructional plans to meet individual student needs while maintaining appropriate records and following Henderson County Public Schools procedures. Establish relationships with parents, colleagues, and the community to enhance learning opportunities, and attend staff meetings as required by the principal.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NC Teaching License
- Qualifications to obtain a NC Teaching License
- Bachelor's degree from an approved education program in subject area
- Thorough knowledge of subject(s) taught
- Thorough knowledge of secondary education principles, practices and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching
- Thorough knowledge of school division rules, regulations and procedures
- Ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior
- Ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, students and parents
- Ability to operate a personal computer
