Job Summary

Teaches 2nd grade in a bilingual Spanish-English program using district curricula (Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, Personal Development); develops lesson plans, conducts instruction with varied methods, administers tests, records and reports progress, and communicates with parents/guardians. May participate in extra-duty activities such as coaching or tutoring. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field and a valid Colorado teaching license; bilingual (ELA-S) capability in Spanish and English is required. The role is located in Colorado with the Denver Public Schools system; responsibilities include compliance with district policies and attendance to diverse learner needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Valid Colorado Department of Education teaching license
  • ELA-S/Bilingual in Spanish and English required
  • Spanish language proficiency exam (SLP) or Praxis II Spanish 5195 acceptable
  • Must live and work in Colorado
  • Master’s degree required for Concurrent Enrollment positions (where applicable)
