Job Summary
Plan and deliver instruction for fifth-grade students in Plano ISD, developing and implementing lesson plans aligned with district curriculum; adapt instruction to accommodate individual student differences; use assessments to inform instruction and support student growth. Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs; integrate technology into teaching; maintain a productive classroom environment and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues; participate in staff development and professional activities; oversee teacher aides/volunteers and participate in district-required reporting and compliance activities. Responsibilities include planning, delivering engaging lessons, managing behavior, assessing student achievement, and supporting extracurricular activities as assigned. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree, Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, ESL Certification (and Special Education Certification where applicable), and at least one year of student teaching or approved internship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- ESL Certification for Pre-K and elementary teaching positions including Special Education
- Special Education Certification for all teachers at an Early Childhood campus and other specified positions
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Experience: at least one year of student teaching or approved internship
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
