Job Summary
Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction for 5th-grade Math and Science in Katy ISD. Develop lesson plans that reflect district curriculum, differentiate for diverse learning styles, and implement TEA guidelines. Collaborate with staff to plan objectives, select materials, and align assessments. Use data to monitor student growth, modify instruction, and support IEPs; mentor and supervise extracurricular activities as assigned. Maintain professional communication with parents, students, and colleagues; participate in faculty meetings and district professional development. Aspire to leadership opportunities and contribute to a positive, inclusive campus culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL certification required for K-5 RLA or self contained special education or general education classroom assignments
- ESL certification preferred for Math, Science teaching assignments
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching or approved internship
- Physically able to monitor student discipline and progress and to meet other student needs as required
- Physically able to move about the room to perform formative assessments and facilitate small and large group instruction
