Job Summary
Elementary 4th Grade self-contained classroom teacher responsible for delivering instruction aligned with district curriculum; develop and implement engaging lesson plans; differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs; present subject matter per TEA guidelines; collaborate with staff on instructional goals; design learning experiences using digital tools; assist in selecting books and materials; monitor student achievement through assessments; support extracurricular activities; supervise instructional paraprofessionals and volunteers; participate in professional development and adhere to district policies and IEPs; maintain professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues; uphold ethical standards and a positive example for the school community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL certification required for K-5 RLA or self contained special education or general education classroom assignments
- ESL certification preferred for Math, Science, Social Studies teaching assignments
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching or approved internship
- Physically able to monitor student discipline and progress and to meet other student needs as required
- Physically able to move about the room to perform formative assessments and facilitate small and large group instruction
