Job Summary
Provide quality instruction aligned to the Minnesota State Standards and District Graduation Requirements for second-grade students at Hall Academy Elementary. Implement a variety of assessment strategies (diagnostic, formative, summative) to inform instructional decisions and enhance student self-management of learning. Engage students through rigorous, inquiry-based tasks; may collaborate with the campus STEM team to ensure integrated instruction across disciplines. Teach the required curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning and problem solving; collaborate with peers to plan and implement best practices; assess students' developmental, cognitive, and social needs to provide developmentally appropriate instruction; create safe, respectful, and engaging learning environments that are inclusive of multicultural/gender and ability diversity; communicate regularly with families to support learning; align with Minneapolis Public Schools’ Improvement Plan and site goals; participate in ongoing professional development. Requires a Bachelor's Degree and Minnesota Elementary teaching license (or pending licensure); a Master's or PhD is preferred. Final candidates may be invited for interviews; background checks are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
- A valid Minnesota Elementary teaching license; or proof of pending approved licensure
- Prior successful experience student teaching or teaching in an urban, multicultural education setting
