Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements while presenting subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines. Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies and materials to accommodate diverse student learning styles, conducting ongoing assessments to guide instruction. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula for Individual Education Plans and supervise assigned teacher aides. Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct, maintain open communication with parents and staff, and participate in faculty meetings and staff development activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
