Job Summary
The Teacher in the Early Head Start program at Gads Hill Center is responsible for providing comprehensive early childhood education services in a nurturing environment. Duties include collaborating with the teaching team, preparing lesson plans, documenting children's development, and adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse needs. The candidate must engage with parents and guardians, conduct health checks, and complete professional development requirements. A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and at least one year of experience with low-income families are preferred qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Illinois Gateways Infant Toddler Level 4 credential
- One (1) year previous direct early childhood classroom experience with low-income families
- Ability to pass a criminal record and child abuse/neglect registry check
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
