Job Summary
Instruct students in academic subjects using varied techniques to meet individual needs while managing a caseload of children ages 3-5 with identified educational disabilities. Create, write, monitor, and facilitate Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), oversee scheduling and compliance for IEP meetings, and assess student progress toward goals. Prepare lesson plans and materials adapting teaching methods to diverse learning styles, and manage socially appropriate behavior to promote self-regulation and safety. Demonstrate sensitivity to physical and medical needs, complete Medicaid logging for reimbursement, and may participate in extra-duty activities for coaching or tutoring. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license
- ELA-S Only: Must be Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado
- Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Deaf Education
- Experience working with young students with exceptional needs and their parents
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs and BIPs
- Experience co-teaching in core academic subjects and thrives in a collaborative team approach
- Experience working or teaching a diverse student population
- Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education
- Experience with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position
