Job Summary

Provide instructional services to meet the needs of eligible students identified as deaf and hard of hearing on an itinerant basis. Plan and create instruction tailored to specific student needs while adhering to local, state, and federal guidelines. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service staff, and parents to develop PLAAFPs and annual goals for IEPs. Collect and maintain data on student progress in language, communication, and the Expanded Core Curriculum. Prepare paperwork for ARD-IEP meetings, report progress on goals and grades per district policy, and attend required training. Serve on an itinerant basis across district campuses, including outside member districts, while maintaining professional conduct and applying research-based educational practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Valid Texas certificate appropriate for education of the deaf and hard of hearing, TASC/TASC ASL
  • Ability to work effectively with school and community
  • Experience in providing instruction to students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Experience in providing instructional services itinerantly/parent infant coaching
  • Maintain emotional control under stress
  • Daily driving in the district from one campus to another, including outside member districts
