Job Summary
Teach and oversee DAEP program instruction for core subjects, develop lesson plans aligned with district curriculum, assess student achievement, collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEP guidelines, manage classroom behavior, supervise instructional aides and volunteers, sponsor extracurricular activities, communicate with parents and staff, participate in faculty activities, and ensure compliance with TEA and district policies. The role includes direct instructional duties, program planning for athletics, and supervising athletic personnel as part of the district’s athletic program, with emphasis on maintaining student growth, safety, and program effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- CDL certification is required
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
