Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans reflecting district curriculum and student learning styles while conducting ongoing assessments to guide instruction. Manage classroom behavior, create supportive learning environments, and assign work to instructional aides. Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula per Individual Education Plans and sponsor approved extracurricular activities. Establish professional relationships with parents, students, and community members while participating in staff development and faculty meetings. Maintain all required reports, records, and files in compliance with state and district regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- ESL Certification/Endorsement within first year of employment
- At least one-year student teaching or approved internship
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Must be present regularly in person
