Job Summary
Teach courses in the core academic subject assigned, developing and implementing lesson plans aligned to district curricula, reflecting diverse learning styles and needs; assess student achievement, collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs, and supervise instructional aides. Responsibilities include planning instruction, using varied instructional strategies, conducting ongoing assessments, and promoting student growth and development; manage classroom behavior, establish effective communication with parents and staff, participate in professional development, and support the district’s policies and safety procedures. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree and a Texas teaching certificate with endorsements, and involves in-person classroom instruction in Itasca, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- AED and CPR certificate for Physical Education Teachers (if applicable)
