Job Summary
Instructor for Cosmetology in a High School setting; facilitates and coordinates a rigorous Cosmetology curriculum with career-related instruction, integrates core academics, supports assessment of industry-certification competency, and sponsors a SkillsUSA CTSO experience to foster leadership and workforce readiness. Responsibilities include managing equipment and supplies, administering developmental and industry-specific assessments, maintaining professional development, building industry/post-secondary connections, organizing advisory committee activities, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of relevant work experience, and GaPSC certification eligibility in the cosmetology content area; strong interpersonal skills and classroom management are essential; travel for off-site training and student exposure opportunities is expected. Location: Hampton, Georgia, USA.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required with appropriate industry-specific education linked here required
- Minimum two (2) years of occupational work experience required
- Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred
- Must hold or be eligible for a GaPSC Certification in the content area of specialization
- Excellent classroom management required
- Applies, recommends and implements technology solutions based on industry trends to improve the effectiveness of the Cosmetology
- Normal classroom/school setting. Will require travel for off-site training and student exposure opportunities
