Job Summary
Lead and facilitate IEP team meetings in compliance with IDEA and MARSE; develop, implement and monitor IEP goals and specially designed instruction aligned to individual student needs. Coordinate and oversee special education compliance processes (REEDs, METs, IEPs, FBAs, BIPs, MDRs, and Transition Plans); participate in evaluations and reevaluations; administer, score and interpret assessments; analyze data to support eligibility determinations and LRE decisions; collaborate with general education staff to provide FAPE and meet LRE requirements; provide consultative support on differentiation, accommodations, and interventions; facilitate inclusion and ongoing communication with administration and staff; interpret policies and guidelines; assess students for identification and teaching; provide staff development and collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, counselors and administrators; deliver interventions and support services within resource room and general education settings; evaluate student performance using district standards; plan and facilitate parent meetings (parent-teacher conferences, IEPs/Nonpublic Service Plans); write measurable goals and objectives per Federal/State/County requirements; maintain accurate documentation; coordinate accommodations for State Testing; perform other duties as assigned by administration.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in education or a field related to special education
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an endorsement in special education
- Minimum of 3 years satisfactory teaching experience in a special education program
