Job Summary
Teacher Consultant at South Lake Middle School and St. Joan of Arc collaborates with school staff to support learners with disabilities, designs differentiated and personalized learning goals, leads IEP/MTSS processes, coordinates Child Study and related meetings, assesses student progress, maintains records, and ensures compliance with IDEA, MARSE, and district policies while communicating with families and partners to promote student growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsements in Learning Disabilities (SM), Emotional Impairment (SE), Cognitive Impairment (SA), or Autism Spectrum Disorders (SV)
- Approval as Teacher Consultant and/or at least three years of successful special education teaching experience in Michigan
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, MARSE, and the IEP Process
Additional Requirements
- Must hold Michigan Teaching Certificate with the specified endorsements
- Licensed to teach special education in Michigan
- Experience with IEP, MTSS, and related processes preferred
