Teacher Consultant

Provide direct instruction to students on their caseload to meet academic and behavioral needs while developing curriculum, designing lesson plans, and assessing progress. Serve as case manager for assigned students, ensuring procedural safeguards, mandated timelines, scheduling, and appropriate meetings to facilitate program effectiveness. Manage IEPs for the caseload, coordinate meetings, write documents, and communicate with general education teachers and support staff. Disseminate information to staff, students, and parents regarding needs, progress, and resources. Support special education teachers in the building to ensure they complete professional responsibilities, including timelines and services. Mentor new staff members in the special education department and lead professional development on best practices. Act as liaison between the district and center programs for resident students. Work closely with administration to ensure students with disabilities are disciplined appropriately and educated in the least restrictive environment.
