Job Summary
Deliver targeted instruction to Grades 7-12 students using diverse curriculum materials and advanced educational software tools. Develop comprehensive daily lesson plans and structured classroom schedules aligned with state guidelines. Collaborate with special education teachers and support staff to differentiate instruction and implement behavioral standards for a safe learning environment. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and actively participate in team meetings to address student needs. Assess student progress through data collection to inform instructional practices and respond to feedback to foster professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a valid GA state teaching credential
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training
- Prior experience working with curriculum development, classroom management, differentiation and instruction in an education setting
- Prior teaching experience in relevant grade level and/or subject matter
- Prior experience and/or knowledge in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's)
- Proven success in developing and implementing effective education plans for students with diverse needs at various levels
- Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals
- Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions
- Advanced oral and written communication, instruction, curriculum, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability
- Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience in an alternative, special education or behavioral health program setting
