Job Summary
Assistant Football Teacher in Katy ISD (Katy, Texas). Responsible for planning and delivering lessons aligned to district curriculum; creating activities to support intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth; assessing student learning and using results to inform instruction; coordinating with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs; supervising extracurricular activities; and leveraging technology to strengthen teaching and learning. Requires Bachelor’s degree, valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements for subject/level, ESL certification (or ability to obtain within two years), and ability to collaborate with families and staff while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL certification required for ELA, Reading and self-contained Special Education teaching assignments (or ability to obtain within two years)
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- General knowledge of design and delivery issues related to alignment for best results in student achievement
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Student teaching or approved internship
- Physically able to monitor student discipline and progress and meet other student needs as required
- Physically able to move about the room to perform formative assessments and adequately facilitate small and large group instruction
